Hi, my name is Gabbi and I’m a shoe addict.

Hiiiii Gabbi.

Well. I own too many shoes and I’d rather not count them! But every shoe has a different purpose. It is important to have different or multiple shoes to use for different activities. Letting a shoe “rest” a day gives the foam an opportunity to rise back up and do its job properly. Rotating shoes also extends the life of the shoe. Knee pain, shin pain, hip pain, and foot pain are all signs that you’re in the wrong shoe or your shoes are dead. A shoe usually lasts 300-400 miles. My shins are babies so my shoes are lucky to last 200. With that, here are some of my favorite barn, running and gym shoes!

Barn Shoes

  • HOKA Speedgoat 4- super cushioned and aggressive tread. It’s great to have a trail shoe for barn adventures. You’ll be grateful for the aggressive tread when you’re trucking through grass paddocks!

  • ON Cloudventure Waterproof- waterproof barn shoes change your life. No more wet socks when you hose your horse down or while filling water buckets. This shoe is definitely on the firmer side and runs a tad short!

Gym ShoesSAUCONY Kinvara 12- a super duper light shoe and super sporty. Definitely great for HIIT type classes as well as lifting and running.ON Cloudflow- a super flat feel that is light and well cushioned. It fits a bit wider and is very flat.

  • HOKA Clifton- My personal favorite running shoe right now. I love the softer cushion and meta rocker to keep me rolling from heel to toe. It is also so so light. Some call Hoka a grandma style shoe but sometimes more cushion can help. I suffer from a lot of shin splints, but my Cliftons have kept me running!
